Villalobos Hospice Senior: Slick

Slick is a 12-year-old pit bull who has spent nearly his entire life with us here at VRC. From the beginning, this sweet boy carried more anxiety than any dog should. He would break out of kennels, crates—anything—hurting himself in the process. Not because he was “bad,” but because the world just felt too big, too loud, and too overwhelming for him.

But everything changed when one of our amazing employees opened their home to him. For the first time in his life, Slick exhaled. He finally found his safe place… and he bloomed.

Because of his lifelong anxiety and the way he copes with stress, Slick has always been an extremely difficult adoption—even though he’s such a gentle soul. And now, at 12 years old Slick was just diagnosed with large cell lymphoma. We don’t know how much time we’ll have left with him. What we do know is that every single day he has will be filled with spoiling, softness, and love.

We are hoping to help with assisting VRC with Slicks vet costs as well as his end-of-life costs and to be able to help with keepsakes for the employees at VRC who love him, and will miss him dearly when he's  gone.
